Manuscript Proofreading: A meticulous review of your novel’s final draft. I’ll catch spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors before you send your manuscript to an agent or editor. Six proofreading packages are available.
Substantive or Big Picture Editing: a professional critique of the big picture elements in your story and suggestions on how to strengthen your writing. This service, unlike developmental copyediting, DOES NOT include line editing.
Manuscript Developmental Copyediting: A thorough line-by-line edit of your manuscript as well as developmental advice on how to make your story stronger and free of common mistakes of the craft. This service is also known as substantive, big picture, and content editing plus line editing.
Fiction Writing Coaching: Need help with writer’s block? Want to talk through a scene? Prefer to edit one chapter at a time? Want to perfect a chapter before you move on to the next? As your writing coach, I can help you with these things. The one-on-one personal relationship built between writer and coach helps develop the writer’s confidence as well as his writing.
Nonfiction Proofreading/Editing: Nonfiction manuscripts don’t require the same level of editing as fiction manuscripts, which may need developmental copyediting. For this reason, I recommend the six proofreading packages for anyone looking to polish their nonfiction manuscript. Note: I don’t check facts for nonfiction. I only proofread the manuscript.
